Ishikawa's clean sheet earns Edmonds women another draw

LYNNWOOD -- Amaris Ishikawa put the Edmonds women's soccer team on her back Wednesday night, turning 10 Bellevue shots away in goal. The Bulldogs controlled much of the game offensively, and totalled 22 shots overall, but time after time Ishikawa and the Triton defense stood tall. In stoppage time, the Bulldogs had two corner kick opportunities, but one shot was deflected and sailed just over the crossbar, and the other squirmed away.

Back on September 18 when the teams met the first time, Bellevue blanked Edmonds 8-0, so the 0-0 result was a tremendous improvement and shows the growth the squad has made. The past three contests the women have come away with hard fought ties -- and Triton goalies have strung together two straight clean sheets.

Edmonds next game will be tough task as they visit No. 1-ranked and undefeated Peninsula on Saturday. On Wednesday, October 16 they head to Skagit Valley.
