Women's hoops historic season comes to a close

PASCO -- The Edmonds College women's basketball season has come to a close, after losing to Lane on Sunday night in the Elite 8. Lane's defensive pressure coupled with an off shooting night led to a 60-46 defeat.

The Titans pushed out to an early 9-0 lead and stayed in front the entire way. Their three-point shooting in the first half was key -- they connected on 6 of 13 from beyond the arc. The Tritons shot just 22% from the floor in the first half as they trailed 35-24 at halftime. Lane won the battle of the boards (47-39) and thwarted every Triton rally in the second half. Jada Walters had another strong game -- she scored 18 points, had 14 rebounds, five blocks, and four steals. Keira Slippern added nine points and Dreanna Jackson contributed eight. Lane heads back to the Final Four and will look to claim their second consecutive NWAC Championship next weekend.

The Tritons finished their historic 2023-24 campaign with a 19-8 record, and brought the program back to the postseason for the first time since 2009-10. The tie for 5th place overall is the program's highest mark since the 1987 season when they reached the Final Four.
