LYNNWOOD -- The Peninsula College women's basketball team came out in the first quarter shooting 56% from the floor and opened up a 24-12 lead -- one they would not surrender. Peninsula defeated Edmonds 73-58 on Saturday night to improve to 2-0 in the region and stay atop the North standings. Natalie Brown registered another 20-point performance, but it wasn't enough against the pesky Pirates. Jada Walters contributed 9 points and 7 rebounds. Maggie Salas scored 8, dished 3 assists and had 3 steals.
