EVERETT -- A strong second quarter helped lift the Edmonds College women's basketball team to victory at Everett in their NWAC region opener Wednesday night. The Tritons stretched a four-point first quarter lead to a 17-point advantage at halftime and went on to defeat the Trojans 83-59.
Keira Slippern dropped 24 points and recorded 8 rebounds, 5 steals, and 5 assists, notching her second consecutive 20-point scoring effort. Natalie Brown registered her second straight double-double, tallying 12 points and 13 rebounds in just 17 minutes of work. The defense forced 25 turnovers, swiped 15 steals, and won the battle in the paint (outscored the Trojans 48-24). Offensively Edmonds distributed 20 assists and outrebounded Everett 56-41.
