LYNNWOOD -- The top ranked Columbia Basin Hawks (9-1) showed why they've earned that spot in a 80-58 triumph over Edmonds women's basketball. Edmonds (5-5) kept it close, but the Hawks pulled away in the third quarter. Jada Walters dropped 21 points in the loss, 13 of those coming from the charity stripe. Walters is averaging 14 points per game on the season. The Tritons shot 28% from the field and were unable to connect from behind the three-point line.
Half of Edmonds' first 10 games have been against ranked opponents, including two against the Hawks. The team will take a respite for winter break and returns to action in the new year with their final non-league run of the season on Thursday, January 4 when they host Northwest Indian College at 5 p.m. in Seaview Gym.
