Triton men extend win streak to nine, NWAC Championships are next

LYNNWOOD -- With the North Region title already in hand, the Edmonds men's basketball squad eclipsed the century mark and cruised to a 109-83 victory over Olympic in the regular season finale.

Josiah Pierre led the way with 21 points in 20 minutes of action, Chris Lee scored 20, Jack Sims chipped in 12 points, and Shiloh Zevenbergen put on a shooting display knocking down six treys (five in the first half) to finish with 18 points. Edmonds led wire-to-wire and ran away from the Rangers in the second half. They dominated the paint (56-38) and their deep bench once again proved to be too much.

Edmonds (21-8, 11-3) did not lose in the back half of region play and notched their ninth consecutive win. Next up is the first round of the NWAC Championship Tournament that begins on Wednesday, March 6 at 6 p.m. The Tritons opponent is to be determined -- the 4-seed from the South Region will likely not be set until after the Clackamas-Linn-Benton game is completed on Saturday. Linn-Benton is 8-7, Lane has an 8-8 record, and Clackamas is 7-8. The tournament is being held at Columbia Basin College in Pasco.
