Tritons bite Bulldogs, 81-70

LYNNWOOD -- Edmonds College men's baskeball secured a 81-70 North Region win in Seaview Gym Saturday night, knocking off Bellevue.

Late in the first half Edmonds settled, building a double-digit lead they would not relenquish. Chris Lee and Josiah Pierre had back-to-back jams in the second half that helped keep the momentum going. Bellevue continued to battle back, making short runs in the second half, and managed to get the deficit to single digits many times, but the Tritons prevailed. Josiah Johnson (24 points) and Logan Stempniak (21 points) led the charge for the Bulldogs. Lee was the top scorer for Edmonds, registering 19 points. Pierre added 12 points and 7 rebounds, Naser Motley scored 10 and had 7 boards, and Shiloh Zevenbergen chipped in 9 points (all treys). Jack Sims hauled in 9 rebounds and tallied 3 important blocks.

Edmonds improves to 13-8 overall and 3-3 in the North. Olympic (0-17, 0-5) is up next on Wednesday, January 31. Game time will be 7 p.m. in Bremerton.
