LYNNWOOD -- The final game in Seaview Gym on Saturday was a doozy as Clackamas needed extra time to secure the victory in overtime over Edmonds 98-95.
The Tritons made an early run to start the game and opened up a 15-4 lead but Clackamas responded and tightened the game back up midway through the first half. From that point forward it was a back-and-forth battle with both teams trading blows to the end. In all there were 10 lead changes in the contest.
Down the stretch Clackamas hit a key three-ball to go up 83-80 with 49 seconds left, but Shiloh Zevenbergen's effort to get an offensive rebound and answer with a step back trey tied the game up at 83-83. The Tritons got a defensive stop on the ensuing possession to force the game into overtime.
In overtime the Cougars were able to secure multiple offensive rebounds with a three point lead and held on down the stretch despite Zevenbergen's 3 free throws after being fouled with nine seconds remaining. Zevenbergen finished with 21 points (6 3s), Josiah Pierre was 7-of-11 for 22 points, Adonai Daniel had 12 points, and Naser Motley scored 11 points and dished 7 assists.
Edmonds (7-3) will look to snap their three-game skid on Sunday in the Crossover finale when they face Centralia at 4 pm. The Trailblazers defeated Yakima 93-87 earlier on Saturday.
