Tritons fall to Yaks in NWAC Crossover opener

LYNNWOOD -- Edmonds fell to Yakima Valley 87-73 on Friday night to open the NWAC Crossover Tournament. In the first half Edmonds pushed their lead to four (18-14) but the Yaks closed the first stanza on a 32-17 run to take a healthy advantage into the locker rooms. Javonte Darrett proved to be too much, pouring in a game-high 35 points for the Yaks. Edmonds was not able to find their rhythm offensively. They were led by Josiah Pierre who was the team's top scorer with 17 points. Damajio Merritt, Shiloh Zevenbergen, and Adonai Daniel each reached double figures.

Next up is Clackamas on Saturday in Seaview Gym at 4 pm. Clackamas topped Centralia on Friday, 97-86.
