Orcas outlast EC volleyball in five sets
LYNNWOOD -- In a tight five-set contest, the Whatcom Orcas prevailed over Edmonds Wednesday night (25-19, 21-25, 18-25, 25-23, 8-15). The Tritons got off to a good start in the first set, but dropped the next two before fighting back to force the fifth and deciding set. Edmonds had an uncharacteristic 14 service errors and couldn't sustain any momentum throughout the match.
Sydney James led the team with 12 kills & 12 digs, Megan Aardema dished out 22 assists, and Rylee Miller notched 11 digs. Whatcom remains perfect in North Region play and upped their record to 4-0. Next up is a trip across the sound to face winless Olympic on Friday night at 7 p.m.
