Avidan West named the NWAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
West helped lead Edmonds to four wins last week, defeating Futures Prep 119-83, Pierce 91-83, Clackamas 115-110 and Blue Mountain 101-93. The freshman came off the bench in all four games and averaged 21 points per game despite averaging just 20 minutes per game. He also averaged 5.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists with a 2.6 assist/turnover ratio. He also shot 68.9 percent from the floor and went 20-for-26 at the free throw line.
"Avi was huge for us this past week coming off the bench and leading us to 4 wins," said head coach Kyle Gray. "He was incredibly efficient averaging 21 pts, shooting almost 70% from the field and 50% from three averaging 20 min a game. We won all 4 games this week including a big win over Clackamas where Avi took over the game in the second half. In the second half he had 23 points and 6 boards with 10/10 shooting from the field."
