LYNNWOOD -- Ese Onakpoma's put back with 3 seconds left lifted the the Peninsula College Pirates men's basketball team to victory in Seaview Gym Saturday night, 80-78.
The Pirates ran out in front and led by as many as 15 points in the first half, but Edmonds cut the deficit to just three points as the teams headed into the locker rooms. Josiah Pierre's bucket tied the game at 78 apiece before Onakpoma's game-winner. Chris Lee hurled a deep three that missed as time expired. Pierre finished with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Naser Motley scored 13 points, had 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Jack Sims added 11 points.
