Edmonds baseball readies for rival Everett

LYNNWOOD, Wash. – The non-league portion of the 2026 baseball schedule has concluded after Saturday's split with Lower Columbia College at Triton Field. North Region action has officially arrived.

Edmonds (11-7) faced a tough preseason schedule -- all of their opponents are currently above .500 except for Wenatchee Valley (8-8), and four of the five team's they've faced are ranked in the first NWAC Baseball Coaches Poll that was released March 17. Lower Columbia is No. 1, Lane No. 5, Yakima Valley No. 8, and Tacoma No. 9. Wenatchee did receive votes in the poll. Edmonds landed at No. 6.

A matchup with Snohomish County rival Everett CC now looms on Saturday, March 21 at Funko Field. The Trojans are No. 3 in the poll and own the NWAC's longest win streak at 12. They will present a well-balanced challenge -- they lead the conference with 190 strikeouts on the bump and sport the 2nd-best team average (.291) and on-base percentage (.432).

Kaden Ecklund has done damage in preseason. The sophomore was selected as the NWAC Hitter of the Week and currently leads the conference in dingers with 6. He's also third in batting average (.417), and fourth in runs batted in (20). Lucas Christensen has been consistent, batting .302 with a .552 OBP. Jeff Perran, Dylan Jacobs, and Carsen Mann have plated runners with 14, 13, and 10 RBIs respectively. Noah Figuered has also been a menace on the basepaths with 17 stolen bases, good for 3rd in the NWAC overall.

The pitching has been anchored by three starters -- Joshua Martinson (2-0, 1.48 ERA, 24 IP), Aidan O'Neil (2-1, 2.15 ERA, 29 IP), and Chihiro Sato (2-1, 3.04 ERA, 23 IP). Luke Moisant has provided six innings of quality relief, only allowing one earned run.

Following Saturday's doubleheader at Everett the team will be at Shoreline on Sunday. First pitch Saturday is 1 p.m. The games on Sunday at Shoreline start at 11 a.m.
