EC Baseball drops pair to Bellevue

BELLEVUE -- Edmonds Baseball dropped a pair of games at Bellevue on Sunday. After a late charge by the Triton offense, the Bulldogs held on to win the first game 6-4. EC wasn't able to muster any runs until the 7th when Levi Joyce broke through with an RBI single. Luke Christensen drove in two more in the 8th. Starter Lathan Haywood hurled the first four innings, and reliever Paxton Fenburg covered the final four frames. Cade Slayton and Cooper Barrow both notched two hits in the loss.

Bellevue (15-11, 4-2) carried that momentum into the nightcap, scoring one run in the first and two in the third. Cole Murawski got the Tritons on the board in the top of the 4th with a single that plated two, but the offense stalled the rest of the way, stranding nine runners in total. Noah Figurered was 4-for-4 and Colby Holmdahl added two hits, but a four-run 4th for the Bulldogs gave them a cushion that stood the rest of the game; the final score was 8-3.

Edmonds (9-10, 3-3) will face Everett in their next series starting Friday at Triton Field. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. Last Saturday's postponed game at Douglas has not been rescheduled yet due to the continued poor forecast.
