SHORELINE -- Triton baseball not only swept a North Region doubleheader against Shoreline, the Tritons did not allow a run all day Sunday. The two victories 13-0 and 7-0, upped EC's record to 14-11, 5-3 in the North.
The Tritons started slowly in the opening game but got it going by the third, plating two runs. Two more runs followed in the fifth with five more in the sixth and four more in the seventh. Levi Joyce drove in four runs for EC with Cole Watterson adding 3 RBI.
Will Franklin went seven strong frames for Edmonds, fanning 12 Dolphin batters and yielding just four hits. The game was halted after seven innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.
Four Triton hurlers blanked Shoreline in game two, with starter Sheldon Egger picking up the win. Joyce, Watterson, Blake Conrad and Chanz Doughty each contributed two hits in the triumph.
Edmonds heads to Skagit Valley for two on Saturday, April 13 before returning to Triton Field to host the Cardinals on Sunday. Both twinbills start at 1 pm.
