Baseball posts road sweep of Raiders in three-game set

PUYALLUP -- The Edmonds baseball pitching staff set the tone on Saturday as the Tritons blanked Pierce 6-0 and 5-0. On Sunday, Edmonds used a 5-run top of the 9th inning to win a 8-5 comeback affair and secure the three-game sweep of the Raiders.

Matthew DelVecchio was the game one starter and hurled six shutout innings before passing the torch to Eli Knowlton for the final three innings. Knowlton chucked another three scoreless frames to close it out. Logan Blank was 2-for-4 with an RBI and stolen base. Chris Rogers had a double and RBI, and Noah Albanese had a triple and RBI.

Sheldon Egger continued the success on the mound in game two, throwing five innings and allowing no runs. Lathan Haywood followed with four more innings of zeros to keep the Raiders offense quiet.
